As the virtual meeting starts, put up instructions to all participants that they should find three items from around their room that match three particular criteria. Here’s a list of good conditions that work well, but feel free to make up your own!

Once everyone has entered and had an opportunity to grab the objects, start the conference with a round of introductions. As well as providing their name, job title, and whatever other usual pieces of info you request, ask each person to introduce the objects they’ve found as well, and why it meets the condition you set out before. You’ll get to hear some incredible stories that will give a far better understanding of each person’s personality than the usual bland virtual event entertainment options!
