As the online meeting begins, write up directions to all participants that they need to find three objects from around their room that match three particular criteria. Here’s some possible conditions you could use, but you can also create your own!

…has the most ridiculous story behind it.
…comes from the longest away.
…isn’t yours, and tell us why you have it.

…you think everyone ought to own, but doesn’t.”
Once all participants have arrived and had an opportunity to scavenge the objects, start the conference with a round of introductions. As well as announcing their name, job title, and whatever other usual pieces of information you ask for, ask each person to introduce the objects they’ve found too, and why it meets the criterion you set out before. You’ll get to listen to some wonderful tales that will give a far better understanding of each participant’s character than the standard bland virtual event entertainment options!
